A team from the US Embassy to Libya visits the University of Benghazi Business Incubator to meet with the incubator’s management team and student entrepreneurs.
Tripoli_ The US Embassy in Libya announced, Thursday, that it has linked 7 startups from southern Libya with investors in Tripoli through the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in cooperation with the Libyan organization “Supernova”.
The embassy explained in a statement published on its Facebook account, that entrepreneurs had the opportunity to present their business ideas to banks, investors and potential consumers after completing 4 months of intensive training in business development. The initiative was carried out by the Libyan Economic Acceleration Program affiliated with the USAID.
Meanwhile, during Global Entrepreneurship Week, a team from the US Embassy to Libya visited the University of Benghazi Business Incubator to meet with the incubator’s management team and student entrepreneurs and learn about their startups in fields from medicine to robotics.
In another statement, the US Embassy said “today, we are proud to highlight our partnership with The Stevens Initiative which has empowered hundreds of students from the United States and Libya to explore entrepreneurship and technology together!”
Both @Culturingua high school students from San Antonio and Benghazi “worked both online and in-person to develop social enterprise ideas addressing real-world issues such as clean energy, quality education, and healthcare, all aimed at achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals,” it said.
It added, over three years, this initiative has reached 228 Libyan students, supported by local partners like the University of Benghazi.
Through collaboration with @WilliamDavidsonInstitute, we also led a cross-cultural business course, giving 126 Libyan university students hands-on experience in international teamwork and valuable field research skills.
