Libyan Women Karate Team Wins 4 Medals in Amman

Amman— The national women’s karate team won three bronze medals and one silver at the opening of the first day of the Arab Karate Championship held in the Jordanian capital Amman.

Player Sama Fatis won the bronze medal in the under 50 kg Kumite competition for adults, while player Walaa Al-Sharaa won two medals, the first a bronze medal in the under 14 individual kata competition, and the second a silver medal in the under 42 kg Kumite competition for under 14. Player Amal Faraj also won the bronze medal in the under 47 kg Kumite competition for under 14, Al-Anbaa Al-Libiyyah reported on Saturday.

The national team is participating under the supervision of Coach Ali Abu Ghalia, and with close follow-up from the Libyan Women’s Sports Federation, where the players gave a distinguished performance on the first day of the championship.

The championship was organized in the city of Amman from (26 to 28) December, with the participation of a number of Arab countries in fierce competitions in various karate categories.
