Over 1264 New Covid-19 Cases, 52 Deaths in Last 24 Hours

Tripoli_ The National Center for Combating Diseases announced today that new covid-19 cases reached 1134 and 52 deaths in the latest count for the last 24 hours indicating an consistent increase in the Libya.

The center also registered 1234 recoveries from the disease during the same period which.

Local health officials are alarmed by the increase of the cases and the number of deaths in many cities and towns in the country. There is lack of medical facilities to face the pandemic, especially as the government has failed to supply the population with vaccines until now.

Cities and towns such as Garyan, Rujban, Kabaow and others in western Libya have closed schools and shutdown their communities.

The center said it received 6366 Real Time PCR testes of which 5232 came out negative. The total number of cases in Libya has reached 150341 since it was first discovered early last year. The active case now are 10781 and 137073 recoveries while the total number of death has reached 2487.
