Tripoli_ In his third trip outside Libya since he held the office of the Presidential Council early this month Mr. Mohammed Menfi made his first visit to Turkey and met on Friday with Turkish President Rajab Tayip Erdogan in Istanbul.
Both leaders discussed the bilateral relations and many issues of mutual concern between Libya and Turkey and the means of strengthening economic relations.
Menfi, who was accompanied by his deputy Abdullah al-Lafi, underlined the importance of Libyan unity, sovereignty and the need to accomplish the due national elections on 25 December 2021.
Erdogan on his part reiterated Turkey’s willingness to support Libya’s drive toward unity and independence and its efforts to achieve economic prosperity and development.
