Libya Energy, Economic Summit on Saturday

Tripoli—The third edition of the Libya Energy and Economic Summit is scheduled to open on Saturday afternoon. It will bring together senior Libyan government and oil officials with chief executive officers of top oil companies along with economic experts and international personalities.

The summit, which will be opened by Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah, will be held at the Rixos Convention Center in Tripoli and will continue for two days, 18 and 19 January.

It will focus on both the technical and strategic aspects of the Libyan oil and gas, and will include a ministerial panel which will bring together the oil and energy ministers of Libya, Turkiye, Algeria and the Secretary Generals of GECF and APPO.

There will also be roundtables including the US-Libya Roundtable, Italy-Libya Roundtable and Women in Energy Roundtable as well as fireside chats with attending major international oil companies.

It has been confirmed that there will be both US and Italian pavilions at the conference’s venue. The Italian pavilion will include 7 companies from the oil and gas sector (Cvb Valves, Delta Solutions, Drafinsub, Elifly, Petrostar, Saer Elettropompe, Valvitalia). The US pavilion will show major companies such as ConocoPhillips.

At the international level, confirmed participants include Baker Hughes, ConocoPhillips, OMV and Harbour Energy; the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) and the Organization of African Petroleum Producers; and local players, including NOC subsidiaries Sarir Oil Operations, Zallaf Libya Oil & Gas, Wazen Oil Services and Murzuq Oil Services. Major financial institutions, including Bank ABC and the Libyan Foreign Bank, will join the discussions on financing large-scale energy and infrastructure projects, which are essential to Libya’s growth.

The third edition of Libya Energy and Economic Summit is a follow-up to the launch event co-organized by the Italian-Libyan Chamber of Commerce and held in Rome on September 23, with the participation of approximately 200 Italian and Libyan companies active in the oil and gas sector.
