Tripoli_ Libyan Coast Guard said today that it rescued 139 illegal immigrants as they sailed off Tripoli coast in a rubber dinghy.
The Libyan Navy Chief of Staff’s spokesman that they received a distress call in Tuesday morning and sent the boat Zawia which carried out the rescue and recovery operation.
All rescued immigrants of African nationalities who were in their way to Europe as they confessed to Libyan authorities.
